چکیده
Objectives: The purpose the study was to evaluate role of diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in diagnosis benign and malignant breast lesions, calculate a cut-off apparent coefficient (ADC) value explore use relative ADC (r ADC) for improving sensitivity specificity MRI cancer. Methods: This retrospective based on cohort patients who underwent dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE)-MRI having suspicious mass by ultrasonography mammography whom DWI sequence added routine diagnostic MRI. r (lesion/normal tissue) values masses were calculated. threshold used differentiate lesions determined using receiver operating characteristic analysis, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive negative Results: Malignant had significantly lower (mean: 1.03 ± 0.36 × 10-3 mm2/s) 0.66 0.22 than those with 1.50 0.56 10−3 0.97 0.31 values, respectively (p = 0.001 both). best lesion 1.09 mm2/s 72.73%, 79.17%. 0.83 78.79% 70.83%. Conclusions: has high differentiating lesions. can improve accuracy

Differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions by apparent diffusion coefficient value in mass and non-mass lesions
Background: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is one of methods in evaluation of breast lesions. We aimed to investigate the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in breast tumors and their accuracy in differentiating benign versus malignant lesions. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 72 patients with 88 breast lesions were investigated by 1.5-T breast MRI from 2015 to 2017 in Athari...
متن کاملThe role of apparent diffusion coefficient values in the differential diagnosis of breast lesions in diffusion-weighted MRI.
PURPOSE We aimed to determine the apparent diffusion coefficients (ADCs) of focal breast lesions on diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) and to evaluate whether ADC measurement can be used to characterize lesions as benign or malignant. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifty-one patients between the ages of 18-79 years (mean age, 48.5 years) with 51 histopathologically verified breast ...
متن کاملApplication of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging in the Detection of Active Sacroiliitis and the Comparison of Apparent Diffusion Coefficient and Relative Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Values
Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the role of diffusion-weighted imaging in detection of active sacroiliitis and compare the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and normalized relative ADC (r-ADC) values by using vertebra and iliac wings as reference organs. Patients and methods: The study included 56 patients (26 males, 30 females; mean age 37.7±10.1 years; range 18 to 66 years) with ch...
متن کاملThe Role of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging and the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) Values for Breast Tumors
OBJECTIVE We wanted to evaluate the role of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) for detecting breast tumors, as compared with the T1- and T2-weighted images. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-one female patients underwent breast MRI, and this included the T1-, T2-, DWI and dynamic contrast-enhanced images. Sixty-five enhancing lesions were detected on the d...
متن کاملValue of Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Values in Differentiating Malignant and Benign Breast Lesions.
BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become a diagnostic and problem solving method for the breast examinations in addition to conventional breast examination methods. Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) adds valuable information to conventional MRI. AIMS Our aim was to show the impact of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values acquired with DWI to differentiate benign and maligna...
